NME's Top 100 Albums of the Decade

Lots of questionable placement on here in my opinion, but I love that Strokes record so I won't put up too much of an argument. At least they cooled off on Arctic Monkeys long enough to see they aren't the second coming of the Beatles or Oasis or whatever absurd claims they were making upon the release of their debut LP.

This is a really great idea for a blog. I submitted my mother's senior picture with her Selby Tigers beehive.
Clipse - Doorman
If this record actually gets released before the end of the year, it will be top 5 material for sure.

11/08/09
Well, it seems I've already fallen off on meeting the guidelines of NaBloPoMo by not updating every day this month. These things happen I suppose, there is only so much to say sometimes. I probably should have been on top of it though because I've been something of a homebody as of late. I don't know if it's the weather (which has been surprisingly incredible the past two days) or just being in a rut, but I haven't had much motivation to leave the house. Maybe it's just my natural response after being busy every day for the past few weeks and now having not much to do.Either way, Young Men, the band I've been working on with my friends Tim, Drew, and Joel tracked drums and bass for some songs this afternoon for a rough recording we're doing. It's weird being in a band that works on arranging real songs and continuously revises the work we've done, but it feels good. Even though things have been going slower than past bands I've been in it feels more "real" in a way. I'm really psyched about getting to the point of seeing who is going to sing because it should be interesting. We still haven't figured out what we're doing with that, but it's all part of the process. It's exciting.
I wrote a piece on Golden Age for the upcoming issue of Jettison Quarterly that I'm excited about. I think it's a great publication and strongly encourage everyone to subscribe to it. It's free and it's only available online, so there is nothing to lose. It keeps getting better with every issue.

Summer Camp

GorillavsBear has been putting me on to some great tunes lately, namely these songs by Summer Camp. The first is a hazy, drugged out cover of the classic Lettermans song "I Only Have Eyes for You." The second is an equally girl group inspired original entitled "Ghost Train." I wish I would have had these in the thick of summer, but they still sound great in the dark days of fall.
